Driving through my very own "district", so to speak, where I've been banking, shopping and sending off important mail at the local post office, I suddenly couldn't believe my eyes when I suddenly spotted another Go Mango beauty sitting in a large parking lot glistening in the summer sun. Of course I had to go check "her" out. What a beauty!!! I couldn't help but peek through the passenger side window to see the number on the dash-plaque. Wow, this 2006 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona in Go Mango color came off the assembly line quite a few before mine.

The plaque on the dashboard states it is Go Mango # 1406. Mine is # 3675. I guess that makes mine the younger sister in the bunch. I love this one's modded tail pipes. I recall a few years ago I was contemplating putting on nice larger tips myself, but after speaking to a bunch of other Dodge Charger aficionados, I decided to keep it all original and changed my mind. I have to say those tips look very nice. I do like the wheels and aftermarket grille also, but I wouldn't go as far, since, again, I've decided to go against the stream and stay all original. I am hoping that in 30 years from now it will become a classic and true collectible. Then the words, all original, will sound like sweet music in a lucky person's ears (who will win her at the Barett-Jackson Car Auction).

Those two look really nice side by side. It was fun to take the pics.

Buffing Out Stone Chips and Watermarks with 7424 Buffer

We took the Bimmer for a looooong drive from Massachusetts, to Niagara Falls, NY, back down and around the great lakes through PA, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, up to Madison, Wisconsin.

It was freezing cold and snowing in Madison, so we wasted no time, we dipped back down into Illinois, and then came up toward Chicago and around the great lakes again, back to Niagara Falls, and from there into Ontario, Canada.

There was a lot of construction everywhere. When we came home the needed to be buffed with my 7424 Porter Cable random dual action orbital polisher.

Took 3 1/2 (glorious hours) to buff out very fine stone chips from the hood. I used Meguiar's Scratch X followed by Turtle "Black Box" with the orange pad. Somehow we got "sandblasted". I also have white paint spray/splatter along the right rocker panels front to almost back. That I haven't worked on yet.

A Plum Crazy SRT8? The color is Plum Crazy, and the badge on the trunk lid says "SRT8" (I believe?). Well, I took a double take. Only 300 built of these beauties. This one was sighted on I-291 West headed toward Springfield, Massachusetts. I only saw it from the rear. Never caught up to pass in my Ram.

Are my eyes tricking me? Or is this a Plum Crazy SRT8 (trunk badge!).

On-A-Shoestring-Budget Fix for Scratches on Radio's LCD Display...

Unfortunately there were some scratches on the surface of the LCD display screen of my Dodge Charger's radio right out of the show room when I bought it.

LCD screens are very sensitive, and should NEVER be wiped with a paper towel, napkin, or even terry cloth. These types of material are way too harsh, and if there is as little as one grain of sand or dust particle as you wipe, you might as well use a Brillo pad, it will permanently mar the surface just the same. Once they are in there, they are permanent.

I am not aware of any products that will safely, and satisfactorily buff out scratches on an LCD screen. However, I have been told there are some home remedies, and products on the market*. I have not tried any of them, but came up with a different fix... Then again, fix isn't the right word here, it's more of a clever patch-up...

Here is a Clever Fix!!!

1.) Buy a pack of display protectors for BlackBerry phones and PDAs... (Verizon store, $9.90)
2.) Get a piece of white paper, a pen or pencil, and a pair of scissors.

That's all you need!

Take the sheet of paper and get an imprint of the LCD window. All you have to do is hold the paper perfectly in place with one hand, and rub it it with your other hand (thumb) to create an imprint mold.

Trace the pattern with a pen. You can use the screen protector cardboard package insert as a ruler to keep your lines straight.

Measure the screen length and width on grid, then trim the grid to screen size.

Wipe the LCD display screen with the the special dry cloth that was included in the display protectors package to remove oil, or dust. Peel the corner away from the grid backing, being careful not to touch the sticky surface of the LCD protectant foil (you don't want finger prints or lint on there!). Hold the display protector from the corners while applying to LCD using the handy little plastic smoothing card that also came in the pack.

Try to position the strip right from the beginning, as it makes the application a lot easier. However, you CAN reposition the protectant film by gently lifting and reapplying it, if necessary.

And PRESTO, here is your new, scratch free LCD screen.

*Final remarks:

I have heard about a product called CD 2000 that buffs scratches out of plastic, and it may work for lighter scratches. Someone else suggested using toothpaste, soft pencil eraser, or Brasso. I never gave these suggestions a try as I don't know whether it may actually worsen the problem. I feel using the screen protector film is a better solution, and more beneficial, since it also protects the screen from more scratches.

2006 Go Mango Charger in the Snow!

This Massachusetts Winter has been extremely icy. Naturally, like every year, I keep my Dodge Charger Daytona R/T "Go ManGo" off the salty and pot hole riddled streets as much as possible. The Charger stays in the garage! However, it seems not cranking, and driving it for a while takes its toll on the the battery when it is this cold. I had to use the jumper cables to get the car to start a couple of times this winter already. The battery was completely dead.

Luckily, the Charger's battery is located in the trunk, so jump starting it is not a big problem. I just pull my Dodge Ram truck close to the garage, open the trunk, and hook it up. It takes a few minutes of idling the truck, but after a few tries, the Charger, so far, has always come back to live. Of course, the clock needs to be reset to the correct time, the radio stations need to be reprogrammed, and the compass needs to recalibrate itself (it always throws a SW-Cal, or NE-Cal code, depending on which direction I first take off). I'll be glad when spring returns - hopefully soon.

The Littleton, MA police department proudly boasts three 2008 Dodge Police Chargers, with more 2009's on the way (all of them HEMI powered cars). Littleton will be going to all Chargers over the next few years, phasing out their Crown Vics.

The Chargers are simple, but mean looking with their full push bars, Whelen light bars, and custom decals. They do regular enforcement on I-495, Rte.2, Rte.110, Rte.119. There is reflective blue striping around the "big" police and the blue in the main stripe is also reflective along with all the white lettering. They look awesome at night. But speeders beware! Don't let them spot YOU first.

Super Charged BMW M6 By G-Power- 232 MPH!

Watch how this 730 horse power BMW M6 "G-Power Hurricane" Bimmer with twin superchargers cranks out a top speed of 232 mph in 7th gear! Interesting to watch how it took the full 500 hp to get to around 200, and an additional 230 hp to get that extra 30 mph. As always, awesome engineering by the "Deutschland".

This M6 Hurricane is tuned by G-Power Tuning (visit www.g-power.de). Notice the dash is flashing more than one error code. Probably a side effect of whatever ECU manipulation was done. Or there could be enough air going under the hood to make the sensor think it's open.

It is fall and the autumn sun has brought out some very light lines and swirls in the otherwise still super shiny high gloss paint finish. Yes, the sun really makes even the finest swirl marks pop right out. Luckily we can fix most everything that comes our way using good technique and the right pads and products. Perfect time to hook up the Porter Cable 7424 dual action buffer and get out the Meguiar's one more time to give this "Go ManGo" a final fall makeover for the year.

The Charger was washed with the amazing Turbo Wax Car Shampoo, formulated to safely remove dirt and grime from clear coat finishes, and then the areas highlighted in yellow were buffed, polished, and waxed using the Porter Cable dual action polisher, Meguiar's DeepCrystal 1-2-3 step system, on an orange cutting pad, and finished with a gray finishing pad.

Here are some great tips found on the Meguiar's Forum:

A list of the most common problems people make when using a dual action polisher to remove swirls:

Trying to work too large of an area at one time
Move the polisher too fast over the surface
Too low of speed setting for removing swirls
Too little pressure on the head of the unit
Too much pressure on the head of the unit so the pad quits rotating
Not keeping the pad flat while working your product
Too much product, too little product
Not cleaning the pad often enough

The stone white looked really nice with its silver stripes and tinted windows.Then again: these R/T Chargers ALWAYS look great.

Changed Background Color of Dodge Ram Badge on Trunk

The 2006 Charger Daytona R/T Go ManGo is the upgraded version of original Charger R/T. The Go ManGo color is a metallic orange with high gloss top coat and sporting its trademark Daytona and Hemi decals in matte black. It also has a chin spoiler, black honeycomb grille, R/T badging resembling that of the 1970s, a black rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tips, and 18 inch polished wheels with Michelin tires.

The Dodge badge on the hood and trunk lid is a chrome framed ram's head on glossy black base. Those who want to personalize their Charger's looks can do a simple do-it-yourself Dodge ram emblem mod.

The trunk lid Dodge ram emblem is actually made of 2 separate layers: the silver ram on top of a black plastic base. I started by pulling off the top layer (the ram) and left the black base in place.

I gathered my supplies:

1.) Purchased (at Michaels Craft Store):
Matte 9x12" all purpose, low tack masking film for airbrushing, stenciling, and protective covering uses on plastic (and more). Brand name: All purpose Frisket Film (www.grafixarts.com)

2.) Different colors spray paint and Acrylic sealer.

3.) Fine Sharpie permanent marker

4.) Scissors

OK... The beauty of this mod is that it is simple, clean, and fast, and you can do several color swatches before you decide what looks best. I wasn't sure if I just wanted matte black (instead of the original high gloss, or silver, or HEMI orange).

BTW, this is also a great way to fix any scratches you might have gotten on the original high gloss base.

The second beauty of it is that you don't have to pull the badge's base completely off the trunk (which is a hell-of-a-lot harder), nor do you have to mask around the emblem base and the most part of the trunk and bumper (with my recent bad luck - the entire car!) to avoid over spray, or paint splatter on the decal.

The third beauty of it is that it's not permanent (for those who are "keep it as original as possible nuts) and can be reversed, replaced, or changed.

This is Charger ForumZ member MikeCav's video of the Dodge Charger ForumZ first ever Meet and Greet in Gatlinburg, TN. PlainAndSilver (another Charger ForumZ member) counted 32 Cars: 29 Chargers, 2 Calibers, and 1 Yugo.

All ForuZ members who attended were glad they did! Some traveled half across the country just to join in on the fun. They had a great time lining up those Mopars (mostly Chargers and some Calibers), driving, and getting to meet some of the members for the very first time. Chrysler LLC has announced that they are offering a solution to help customers through these tough economic times and evergrowing gasoline prices at the pump. Chrysler hopes that this will ease their customer's concerns about growing gas prices, and serve as an incentive to increase sales at Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge dealerships.

Is It A Dodge Charger Price Reduction?

NO, it is not, but it is an incentive to buy a new Dodge.

The program is called "Let's Refuel America". Let's Refuel America gas card program works when a customer purchases a new and unused Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle and selects the program in lieu of other available incentives. The customer is provided with the registration process documentation and registers providing their required personal information via the dedicated web site or toll-free 800 number.

Once registered, the customer receives their gas card and separately, their Personal Identification Number (PIN). The customer then swipes their Let's Refuel America Gas Card at an eligible gas station, selecting up to 87 octane regular, E85 fuel or diesel fuel, and enters their PIN. After the fuel transaction occurs, the customer is charged $2.99 per gallon and Chrysler will pay the difference.

Which Cars Are Eligible - And Are There Exclusions?

The Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, and Dodge Magnum are on the (long) list of eligible cars. Unfortunately, SRT models, Vipers, Crossfires, and Sprinters are not included in this program.

The Rebirth of Chrysler's LX Plattform

The original Hemi engine quickly became a legend in the 1950s and 1960s as one of the most powerful V-8s of all time. It's speed and power stunned the racing world and propelled Chrysler on top of the muscle and performance car market. Then, in the mid part of the 2000s the new ChryslerDaimler Corp. made an impressive comeback by means of their new LX platform cars equipped with full-size rear wheel drive and ABS/ESP braking and stabilization technology.

Thanks to Germany's Daimler-Benz AG merger with Chrysler Corporation of USA new and improved components for the LX platform were developed, or borrowed from the Mercedes-Benz, such as the Mercedes-Benz W220 S-class (the control arm front suspension),and Mercedes-Benz W210 E-Class (the 5-link rear suspension). The 5-speed automatic transmission, the rear differential, and the ESP system also came from world renowned Mercedes Benz technology.

According to Steve Bartoli, head of ChryslerDaimler's marketing and car planning, the LX series was developed after learning that customers wanted a car with safety, style, and convenience. Therefore engines for the LX platform were improved and fine tuned, and the cars were given 18" wheels and better tires to improve all-season performance.

Vehicles that introduced the modern LX performance platform:

2005 – Chrysler 300 sedans
2005 – Dodge Magnum wagons
2006 – Dodge Charger sedans

Unfortunately it was set to auto-focus and it didn't work well in the dark, but don't let this less than perfect video fool you; this Bimmer with its twin-turbo, 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine is super fast!!! Of course, the 5.7-liter Hemi engine is no softie either and a good match, and naturally we had a moment of fun driving together under starlit skies.

While the Charger R/T and SRT clearly fall into the category of the so-called "American muscle cars", the 2008 Audi R8, which went on sale in the U.S.A. in the fall of 2007, is without question one among the ultimate high performance super sport cars on today's market. And rightfully so! It is powered by Audi's 420-hp, direct-injection, 4.2-liter V-8, which sprints from 0-60 mph in only 4 seconds.

Although countless Dodge Charger owners tell us how much they love their car and feel it is one of the best cars they purchased for the money, they cannot deny that the R8 is an ultimate dream car! Many Charger owners would easily consider sacrificing their beloved Charger for that adrenaline pumping speed of 192 mph (311 km/h).

I'd love to say how I diligently planned out the purchase of the most expensive car I've ever owned but I'm going to be honest - I kind of stumbled into purchasing the SRT8.

You see, my father works as a Manager at Integrity Dodge in Las Vegas. Now you're probably thinking, lucky guy - no wonder he has that car. Being the son of a Sales Manager is not all it's cracked up to be however. Even though I get great discounts, I usually get suckered into buying a new car every three or four years. Imagine being permanently placed on some salesman's sales lead list that you can never get off of it. Yeah, it's like that. So, because of my fathers great sales tactics in 2006 I became the proud owner of a brilliant pearl black Dodge Charger R/T.

The Charger was the first V8 that I had ever owned. I had no idea how much power the massive 5.7L V8 Hemi was packing. Once I pushed the throttle to the floor however, I was in love. The power, the acceleration, the in-your-face good looks - everything about the Hemi screamed pure automotive infatuation. It's no wonder that I quickly became obsessed with the cult of cars and everything Mopar. I frequented Charger message boards, Charger club meetings, and even turned a few 1/4 mile runs at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

As the miles piled on, I started to get an itch that most horsepower hungry drivers eventually get. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but my R/T started to seem sluggish. It didn't seem as fast as it had when I took it out for the test drive; my right foot just craved more power. To try and quell this horsepower appetite, I purchased modification after modification for the R/T but no matter what I bolted on, I still wanted to go faster. Then one day it hit me, why not trade-in my baby for the King of the Charger Hill - the SRT8?

The fateful day was January 30th, 2007. In what was to be my last ride in the R/T, I drove down to Integrity Dodge and spoke with my father. We talked about the SRT, looked at a few, and I knew I had to have one. Of course, the sticker on the SRT8 was the only thing holding me back. Forty thousand dollars is a lot of cash, anyway you slice it. Seeing my apprehensiveness, my father said these fateful words, "Well, let's run the numbers." Two hours later, I was smiling from ear to ear driving home in my brand new black, 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8.

In the 13 months that I've owned the SRT, I've raced numerous people (I've won all but two races), swapped out my first thermostat, installed ear drum blasting electronic cut outs, and turned 12.9 1/4 miles at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

I must say, this car has been and continues to be my pride and joy. I find myself detailing it once a month, parking in Timbuktu and guarding it like a pit bull. Buying the SRT has been the best decision I've ever made and I'd do it all over again if I could. I am a bit worried though... remember my father? Well, with the Challenger coming out and all, I've already started to receive phone calls from him. I just hope I can hold out!

Winter Storage Tips For Your Dodge Charger

When your Charger is stored in a detached garage you know it gets cold and damp out there. You can use the following winter storage routine:

1.) Give the Charger a good end-of-season washing, dry it thoroughly and apply a protective coat of wax while the weather is still warm enough (mid-November).

2.) Make sure the undercarriage and wheel well is thoroughly cleaned on the last dry days. It's the dirt that cases most rust, as dirt attracts and bind moisture more than a clean surface would.

3.) Make sure the drain holes on all doors (bottom) and on the OEM mufflers are free of debris, and open for water drainage. Watch the video showing the drip from the drain hole and tail pipe and notice the plastic coated wire I placed into the drain hole to demonstrate where it is located...

4.) Make sure the rugs and car mats are clean and most importantly, dry beofre storage begins.

5.) Make sure the right mix of good quality antifreeze is used. Some drain the cooling system (including the radiator) and refill it with a rust-inhibiting antifreeze for winter storage.

6.) Get an oil change and new oil filter right before storage.

7.) If it's stored only for the 3-4 winter monts, fill the gas tank all the way up with the manufacturer's recommended octane gasoline.

8.) Ideally, on good days (dry road!), take the car for a 5 mile run to evaporate the moisture from the engine & exhaust.

9.) I give the leather seats (not the suede parts) and the dash a good Lexol Leather Cleaner treatment (the orange bottle) right before storage.

10.) Some people hook their battery on a battery charger/maintainer to keep the battery alive. I've never done this and never had a problem.

11.) Although some people suggest to keep the windows cracked just a tad bit, close them if you have mice or other rodents to keep them out.

12.) Some people swear by laundry dryer sheets inside to keep bugs out. Others go as far as placing mothballs inside their car, including under the dash to keep critters out. I don't. I just keep the windows closed, but open the doors from time to time, while I also crank up the engine to give the car a good "breather".

13.) Keep it operational. Basically this means periodically start the car, run the heater, or the air conditioner, check the wiper blades, tire pressure, and check the garage floor for signs of leaks, etc... Ideally, on good days (dry road!), take the car for a 5 mile run to evaporate the moisture from the engine & exhaust.

14. Some people cover their tail pipes (insert a ball of crumpled up news paper, or copper kitchen scouring pads) to keep the critters out. Again, I don't do that... we don't have mice, and I keep the garage door closed. I prefer my tail pipes open so they can "breathe" and hopefully stay dry(er).

15.) Once put away for winter cover the hood, roof, and back with soft covers to protect from dust and UV rays from the 2 windows.

16.) Keep it operational. Basically this means periodically start the car, run the heater, or the air conditioner, check the wiper blades, tire pressure, and check the garage floor for signs of leaks, etc...

Additional Winter Storage and Car Care Tips:

17.) Some people put their car up on stands to prevent potential "flat spots" on their tires. I don't think this will be an issue with my Michelins. This depends on the type of tire and how long the car is left sitting. If it's 4-6 months or more, then may be.

18.) Also, some put their clutch box (gear) in neutral for winter storage, while the car is held via the emergency brake and blocks against the tires. This is said to protect their vehicle's fly-wheel from fusing. I don't do it on the Charger, because it's just not sitting long enough to worry about it.

Drip Pattern

What I DO WANT TO POINT OUT is the condensation that accumulates naturally in the exhaust system. Make sure the Charger's drain-holes in the muffler are open for sufficient drainage. After you routinely crank your Charger up, you should see two "wet spots" under each tail pipe from the drip, as seen in the photos below.

I remember it just like yesterday, when Gary (SublimeTime) from ChargerForums.com spoke to me at our first "Meet and Greet" at the Dairy Hut in Connecticut and mentioned that he was hoping to sometime put together a charity cruise with local Chargers.

I immediately loved the idea; and my husband Ted, who also was there, and I told him without a moments hesitation that we would be more than happy to work with him make this dream come true. We had already participated in similar events and fund-raisers before and our experiences and connections would make putting a memorable event quite possible.

Gary's 1st announcement on the Charger Forums immediately created many positive responses. People loved the idea and offered their input and help. Only a handful were sceptical initially, mostly with regard to the registration fee. But again, the idea immediately sparked many welcomed responses and feedback and so, with so many interested people spurring us on, numerous follow-up meetings in Connecticut quickly followed to forge a solid plan. Inviting the Massachusetts State Troopers
I came up with the idea to contact the Massachusetts State Troopers of SP Barracks Troop-B to invite them to escort us in their brand new MSP Chargers. Since I already had met with the MA State Troopers in the past, this task became my priority project as far as my contributions to the cruise, since I alread had a personal "connection" with them. Although I was quite sure they'd join us, Gary was NOT going to make the official announcement and fliers unless he knew for sure whether or not we'd have the MSP involved. Gary preferred to wait.

Meeting with MSP troopers (Station B-3, SP Springfield, MA)

The Long Wait
MSP-Airwing Trooper Matt Domnarski forwarded my request to MSP Sgt. Joubert, who forwarded it to the MSP Major, and after an agonizing 2 weeks of holding our breath and fingers crossed, plus a couple of personal visits to the MSP barracks, we had their approval and commitment, YES!!! What a relief! And better than hoped for: we were getting 3 MSP Chargers to escort us all the way up I-91 to the Massachusetts/Vermont border. Cruisin' For A Good Cause T-Shirts
I offerend to design T-shirts to give out to the first 50 people to sign up. After getting the hoped for thumbs up from Gary, I created and donated 50 T-shirts to the cause. I never thought I'd see my T-shirt on so many people. However, wherever I looked I saw people from tall to small wearing their brightly colored Cruisin' For A Good Cause T-shirts, looking like a bag of skittles!!! That made me very happy.

Getting BBHOF's Permission
The next step was to obtain permission trough the Basketball Hall of Fame management from Appleton (who owns and manages the BBHOF parking lots and buildings) to use their parking lot as our meeting grounds. My husband Ted made sure that this went through without a hitch.

Final Touches
I contacted numerous local businesses to request donations for the event, and recruit more participants. The biggest contributors were Aaron's Rent A Center of Springfield Plaza and Bertera Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Westfield, MA, as well as National Health Career Association (NHA), (Antek Healthware, Domnarski Farm, and a few others. Steven Bertera if the Bertera Car Dealership sent one of his salesmen in a Plum Crazy Charger to personally deliver their check, and also bring hot coffee and donuts. Imagine the warm welcome he received from the participants of the cruise.

In The News
Ted made sure a media alert was dispatched the day before the cruise---and wouldn't you believe it!!! Channel 22 news did indeed come out to film and air our event on the 6 o'clock news. Now, how cool is that??? See Gary with the reporter here.

The Outcome
All in all this was a cruise that nobody will soon forget! Where Gary was hoping to get (hopefully!!!) 50 cars to participate in this cruise, we got that and so much more. The preceding weeks of planning and orchestrating the event paid off big for everybody; leading to a memorable day for all who came and helped. Most of all, the money raised for the Make A Wish Foundation, and Grace Cottage Hospital exceeded our wildest dreams and expectations: over 1,800 dollars. What a worthy cause!!!! And so many smiles.

Lens Fogging

Some customers may report that on occasion, vehicle exterior lamp assemblies are fogged with a light layer of condensation on the inside of the lenses. This may be reported after the lamps have been turned on and brought up to operating temperature, turned off, and then rapidly cooled by cold water (such as rain, or the water from a car wash).

Lens fogging can also occur under certain atmospheric conditions after a vehicle has been parked outside overnight (i.e., a warm humid day followed by clear cool night). This will usually clear as atmospheric conditions change to allow the condensation to change back into a vapor. Turning the lamps on will usually accelerate this process.

A lamp that has large amounts of water droplets visible on most internal surfaces indicates a problem with the lamp sealing that has allowed water to enter the lamp. In this instance, the customer is likely to report that moisture in the lamp is always present and never disappears. A lamp that exhibits internal moisture permanently should be replaced.

Wicks' 2007 Dodge Charger Speed World Record

BONNEVILLE, Utah, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK) today announced that Russ Wicks has set a new stock car world speed record in a 2007 Dodge Charger built to NASCAR specifications.

Wicks successfully achieved the record on Tuesday October 9 at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Northwestern Utah while driving a 2007 Dodge Charger 244.9 miles per hour. The new record shatters Wicks' previous stock car world speed record of 222 miles per hour. This new speed world record has been confirmed by Guinness World Records.

It was 2 years ago that over 30 Dodge dealers took delivery of the very first limited-edition 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T models in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

33 Go ManGo's!!!
On an August 2005, a Friday morning, thirty-three Charger Daytona R/T models in GoManGo exterior paint cruised from the Walter P. Chrysler Museum down Woodward Avenue with a Dodge police escort for a preview of Chrysler's Woodward Dream Cruise display. GoManGo was a paint name initially used for the 1970 Dodge Charger. It returns in an updated metallic orange shade on the new Charger Daytona R/T.

Call It Deja-Vu!
Back in the days in 1969, NASCAR stipulated that any car raced in their series had to be available for sale and must build a minimum of five hundred for the general public. The Dodge Charger R/T was one of the largest muscle cars available in the 1970s. .... Only the high performance cars were allowed to use the R/T badge.

Buckle Up for The Ride
The 2006 Dodge Charger has done it again. This time around there are 4000 of the 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T Go ManGo! It hit it off big and took the automotive market by storm with its six versions, the SE, SXT, R/T, Road and Track Performance Package, and Daytona R/T, ranging from $22,995 to $38,495.

Sometimes Regular Just Isn't Good Enough
The 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T however, stands out from the rest. Just say: supersize me! It gets its power from the 350 HP 5.7 Liter Hemi (tm) engine, with 390 pounds per foot of torque. Its Mopar high performance dual exhaust and induction provides additional "kick". The performance, nine-land steering gear with its firm damping, performance Nivomat (tm) load-leveling rear shock absorbers, electronic stability program (ESP*), and other Mercedes inspired technology make this a lean, mean, modern driving machine to be reckoned with.

*ESP = The Charger's advanced stability-control system, which senses when a driver may lose control of the vehicle and automatically applies brakes to individual wheels to help keep it stable and on track.

Comparison of R/T and Daytona R/T Package Features
At first glance the differences between the 2006 Dodge Charger R/T and the 2006-2007 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T limited edition package seem rather subtle. However, upon closer examination you find significant mechanical and exterior distinctions, which set the two clearly apart. The Daytona R/T is equipped with special power-rack and pinions, load-leveling and hight control suspension, and additional engine horse power put-out. The most obvious visual differences on the exterior is their vivid body paint color with sportive black body decal accents all around.

The Daytona R/T limited edition package's cockpit, and suede and leather trimmed high-performance seats stitched with body-color accent trim and Daytona logo embroidered on the head restraints makes this car clearly stand out from the rest. The dash board assembly sports a plaque attached near the front passenger side showing the vehicle's unique limited edition package version and number of all that were built. A nice touch for the Dodge Charger R/T enthusiast.
